History: The Jagdterrier is a young breed that was developed at the turn of the twentieth century.It is a hunting dog and loves to hunt a variety of game.In the US, the Jagdterrier has been used to chase raccoon and squirel.Sometimes it is hunted with hounds.
Description: This breed is a medium-size dog with a squarish build. He has a powerful muzzle and super strong lower jaw.His muzzle is shorter than his skull.Eyes are small and dark and he carries V-shaped drop ears that are medium in size.The Jagdterrier has a smooth or harsh abundant coat, that is either black, grey or brown ,with lighter markings on his eyebrows, chest,legs and under the tail.

Weight:16-22 pounds
Temperament: Smart, intelligent tough and fearless dog with a strong work drive.The Jagdterrier is shy and wary of strangers and highly protective of his family.Many believe that this breed is way to aggressive and needs to be used just as a working dog.Others disagree.

The Jagdterrier needs an experienced dog parent/handler and one that enjoys to be out and about. Since this dog is active, he does best with plenty of space and exercise.
Needs: Plenty of exercise,socialization and training.
No possible health concerns so far.

They’re a great looking dog, I imagine that they, like any dog bred for working/hunting, would find it difficult to cope in a family without some form of mental and physical exercise.
Working/hunting dogs are great companions, but require a lot of attention, I have a shepherd/rescue dog, if he doesn’t’ get motivation he becomes frustrated and you’ll notice it.
